You are buying a pre-viewed, ORIGINAL VHS wrestling video, World Wrestling Federation (WWF) Slammy Awards 1997.
The WWF's answer to the Grammys, this psuedo-award show was supposed to be an annual event, but only lasted two years initially (it was later revived). However, the two years were VERY memorable for the WWF. Held prior to WrestleMania, the awards gave wrestlers a chance to act out of character for a brief time, but several new dimensions to characters ended up being introduced as well. Plus, it gave the chance to show a less serious side of the WWF, with obvious "goof" categories.
Your host for the evening is Todd Pettingill (or Todd Petting Zoo as Sunny used to call him on the old "Live Wire" show).
The show is started with 1996's "New Sensation of the Squared Circle" Ahmed Johnson presenting the 1997 New Sensation nominees and winner. Your nominees: Stone Cold Steve Austin, Wildman Marc Mero, Flash Funk (2 Cold Scorpio), Mankind (Mick Foley, Cactus Jack, Dude Love), & Rocky Maivia (The Rock).

Returning to the awards portion of the Slammys, Jim Ross presents the Slammy for "Match of the Year", with nominations for this Slammy including HBK v. Mankind from In Your House Mind Games, Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin from Survivor Series 1996, The Boiler Room Brawl w/Mankind & The Undertaker from SummerSlam 1996, Savio v. Stone Cold Steve Austin in a Caribbean Strap Match from In Your House, and the Iron Man match from WrestleMania XII.
Hawk & Animal (The Legion of Doom) present the Slammy for Best Hair Day, with nominees of Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mankind & Bret "Hitman" Hart.
Marlena continues the talent portion of the Miss Slammy competition identifying cigars blindfolded, aided by Goldust.
The "Loose Screw Award" is presented by Cap'n Lou Albano & Sunny, and the nominees are Mankind, Sycho Sid, Seinfeld's Karmer, Stone Cold Steve Austin, & Mr. Bob Backlund.

Sable continues the Miss Slammy talent contest, showing her martial arts skills.
The Slammys continue as Double J Jessee Jammes (Road Dogg) unveils a new song, "Something Gone Wrong." Road Dogg, while not on the level of a professional singer had enough talent to carry the songs written for him, and it's a mystery why the WWF dropped the ball on him (other than contractual problems involving him and Jeff Jarrett).
John MacNally (from Edel Records, distributor of the WWF Full Metal album) and Dok Hendrix (Michael Hayes) present the Slammy for Number One With A Bullet, with nominees Double J (for With My Baby Tonight) Undertaker's entrance theme, Nation of Domination rap, Flash Funk's entrance music, & Sunny's "I Know You Want Me."
The Slammys continue with the swimsuit competition with WWF ladies Sunny, Sable, Chyna, The Funkettes, & Marlena.
The Ticking Time Bomb Brian Pillman presents the Slammy for Best Finisher (aka 1-2-He's Got Him). Nominated for this award are Sweet Chin Music from Shawn Michaels, Wild Thing from Wildman Marc Mero, Sycho Sid's Power Bomb, Steve Austin's Stone Cold Stunner & Bret Hart's Sharpshooter.
Best Couple is presented by commentators Vince McMahon and Jerry "The King" Lawler, and the nominees are Marlena & Goldust, former President Bill & Hillary Clinton, Siegfried & Roy, and HHH & Chyna.
The Miss Slammy contest continues as Chyna presents weightlifting as her talent. We all know her talent sure wasn't in the ring! Sunny presents her music video for her talent with clips of her in the studio singing.
Mancow Muller (w/ Diff'rent Strokes star Todd Bridges) & Mr. Bob Backlund present the Larry Flynt Freedom of Speech Award. Nominated are Jerry Lawler, Stone Cold, Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW)'s Paul E. (Paul Heyman), Faarooq of the Nation of Dominaton, and (of course) Howard Stern.
The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to "The Golden Boy" Arnold Skaaland. A brief history reveales that Skaaland is a former Marine and a World War II veteran, who participated in the attack on Normandy. He also appeared in the Piledriver music video, managed Bob Backlund's 6-year WWF Championship reign, and was Andre the Giant's final handler before his passing in 1993.
The Miss Slammy Award is finally presented to Sable in the finale to the 1997 Slammy Awards.
